Water pump common sense - Fault causes and solutions

1. Fault: the water pump does not absorb water, and the pointer of the pressure and vacuum table is beating violently.

Possible causes: The water injected into the pump is not enough. Leaks in pipes and gauges.

Treatment: Inject water into the pump and tighten the blockage of air leakage.

2, Fault: the pump does not absorb water, the vacuum table indicates the height of vacuum.

Possible cause: The bottom valve is not opened or blocked, and the suction pipe resistance is too high. Too much water absorption

Treatment: correct or replace the bottom valve. Clean or replace the suction pipe. Reduce the height of absorption.

3, Fault: see pressure gauge water pump outlet pressure and the pump is still not out.

Possible causes: the outlet pipe resistance is too large, the rotation direction is wrong, the impeller is clogged, the pump speed is not enough.

Treatment: check or shorten the water pipe, check the motor and remove the water pipe connector. Clean the impeller to increase the speed of pump shaft.

4. Fault: The flow is lower than expected.

Possible causes: The pump is clogged, the sealing ring is worn too much, and the speed is insufficient.

Treatment: clean the pump and pipe, replace the seal ring to increase the speed of the pump shaft.

5, Fault: the power consumed by the pump is too large.

Possible causes: packing gland is too tight, packing heat impeller wear, pump water supply increase.

Treatment: loosen the packing cover or take out the packing to square some, replace the impeller, increase the resistance of the outlet pipe to reduce the flow rate.

6, Fault: the internal sound of the pump is abnormal, the pump does not water.

Possible causes: the flow is too large, the resistance in the suction pipe is too large, the suction height is too large, and there is air infiltration at the suction place. The temperature of the absorbed liquid is too high.

Treatment: increase the resistance of the outlet pipe. To reduce the flow, check the suction pipe, check the bottom valve, reduce the height of water absorption, tighten the blockage of air leakage, and reduce the liquid temperature.

7, Fault: pump vibration.

Possible cause: pump shaft and motor shaft are not in the same center line or pump shaft oblique.

Treatment: Align the center line of the pump and the motor.

8. Fault: bearing overheating.

Possible cause: No oil, pump shaft and motor shaft are not in the same center line.

Treatment: oil, align the shaft center, check and clean the bearing body.

9. Fault: the balance water interrupts the heat of the balance chamber and the electric power increases.

Possible cause: The pump is operated at high flow and low head, resulting in grinding of balance plate and balance ring.

Treatment: close the outlet gate valve to the designed operating condition, disassemble the balance plate for maintenance.
